History
CityWheelchairs was started in 1999. CityWheelchairs was originally envisioned as an online retailer of power mobility and manual wheelchairs. Originally called CityWheelchairs.com, the company sold wheelchairs online until 2004. In 2004 the .Com was dropped and CityWheelchairs was created. The brick and mortar operations were a necessary evolution due to the changing Medicare regulatory environment. The company has furthered evolved and is focusing on becoming the premier Rehab power chair company in San Francisco – specializing is complex power/manual wheelchairs and standard power wheelchairs. CityWheelchairs is currently the only Medicare recognized Rehab provider based in San Francisco.
Founder: Dwight Siu
Dwight Siu is a RESNA certified Assistive Technology Professional and holds a Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of San Francisco. He has extensive business development experience in Home Infusion Therapy, Home Healthcare, and Home Medical equipment/Durable Medical Equipment (HME/DME). He’s held sales positions with US Surgical Corp (Covidien), Coram Healthcare, Apria Healthcare, and HMSS Home Health. He has been Owner /CEO operator of CityWheelchairs since 1999.
